About
D. Ferg
The Founder of Ferg Apparel
Founder of Ferg Apparel, a boutique store that was located in Harlem (223 West 145th street), Darold Thompson Ferguson Sr. was one of New York City’s most talented designers. A Harlem native, D. Ferg Sr. was a beacon of the community and responsible for throwing some of the best events / parties throughout New York.
Crafting his skills at Art and Design High school, he took his talents to the streets where he hand-painted shirts for well-known street names, music labels, and worked with Dapper Dan as his protege before blowing up on the New York scene. His exposure heightened when he designed the logo for Andre Harrell’s record label Uptown Records. He quickly became the artist behind some of the entertainment industry’s most recognizable designs, a list including The Cosby Show, Teddy Riley, N.O.R.E., Shaquille O’Neal, Sean Combs (he created the Bad Boy logo), and more.
Throughout his life he touched many with his passion, artistic charisma, and visionary leadership. Following his passing his sister Kim Ferg aka Lady Ferg and son Ferg (known as A$AP Ferg) have carried on the Ferg Apparel brand, and remain dedicated to ensuring his legacy will live forever through his family and others.
